Event Info
Camp starts each day at 9am. All campers need to bring a lunch
each day and proper basketball clothes and shoes, preferably shorts
or sweat pants and basketball shoes. Please leave all valuables at
home such as rings, watches, earrings, money, etc. We can’t be
responsible for lost or stolen items. Athletes that need one on one
supervision are welcome to attend however they will need to bring
with them their own chaperone.
Camp is full of fundamental drills, passing, shooting, ball
handling, dribbling, exciting contests like hot shot shooting, Free
throws, bump, lay-ups, and exciting games. Each camper will be
placed on a team of 8-10 players coached and supervised by 3-4
coaches on each team. Each day teams will play each other and team
and individual contests will be held. Each can and will be modified
according to ability. Our younger athletes will be playing on 8 or 9
foot rims so all can enjoy success! All campers that attend will
receive a camp basketball and a bag of various prizes and gift
certificates. Also each camper will get a team, camp and individual
picture and a variety of prizes, plaques and trophies for winning
individual contests.
Camp Director
Steve Garrity started this unique camp
in 1994. He is a long time volunteer youth sports coach, and has
been the camp organizer and director since the inception. He is a
graduate of Aloha High School and has a business degree from the
(Harvard of the North) The University of Alaska in Anchorage. He
attended Idaho State University for 3 years playing basketball and
receiving All Big Sky honors before transferring to the University
of Alaska where he earned his degree and finished up his collegiate
basketball career. Upon graduation he enjoyed a short professional
basketball career with stints in Europe and the US. Steve is married
20 years to Lisa they have 4 children Hayes 17, Hannah 14, Hailey 12
and Halle 5. He is self employed and the owner of Waterhouse Motors
a full service auto dealership

and is also the basketball director at Sunset Athletic Club

the basketball academy training athletes of all ages. He is the
coach of Team Oregon an AAU basketball program for college bound
athletes.
