Welcome to Basketball Camp

Welcome to our website. Hoop Camp is a “unified” basketball extravaganza! Created in 1993 Hoop Camp was designed as an event for adults and children with special needs. In 1996 Hoop Camp  became “unified” and we invited campers from 6-13 years of age without special needs to attend. Hoop Camp is “unified” and creates an inclusive atmosphere which makes this the best camp for all! Our “unified” format is what makes Hoop Camp the most unique basketball camp in the nation. All are invited regardless of ability. Camp is held at the THPRD Athletic Center on NW 158th Avenue between Cornell Road and Walker Road in Beaverton, Oregon. Hoop Camp at a Glance

• 2010 is Hoop Camps 17th year!
• Over 20,000 volunteer hours have been logged since Hoop Camp began.
• No coaches, directors  or any staff are compensated at Hoop Camp -- ALL are volunteers.
• Seventeen Boy Scouts have used Hoop Camp for their required “eagle service project”and earned the highest rank in Scouting of being an Eagle Scout.
• Our oldest athlete was 73 years old.
• One Special Needs athlete could dunk a basketball.
• Many of our athletes have competed in Special Olympic sporting events internationally.
• Many have won gold medals in Special Olympic participation.
• Our younger and smaller athletes play on 8' baskets.
• Our coach to athlete ratio is 1:4.
• Hoop Camp is a 501 (c)3 non-profit corporation registered with the IRS. All donations are deductible.
